What is it?

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy is an innovative treatment that stimulates the bodys natural healing response. It is more commonly known as 'the vampire facial' and is a very popular treatment amongst celebrities. It uses your own cells to promote accelerated healing of skin conditions, anti-ageing and hair regeneration, therefore it is a very natural treatment. PRP is found within the blood and contains platelets, white blood cells, stem cells, glucose, proteins, lipids and albumin a powerful anti-oxident. All of which help to volumise the skin, improve the skin texture, improve and remove lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, scarring and can even improve hair loss. PRP can be used in almost any area including the face, neck, chest, scalp, backs of hands and other areas of the body.

PRP is a proven treatment and has been used since the 1990's in dental medicine, by doctors performing orthopaedic surgery, and in dermatology for the healing of ulcers, severe burns and other reconstructive surgeries.

How does it work?

It works by taking a small blood sample from your arm, this is then placed into a special machine which separates the components of the blood but more importantly separates the potent PRP. This serum is then injected into the skin to regenerate cells, to produce collagen and growth factors to stimulate repair and rejuvenation of the required areas.

The dermapen microneedling device can also be used in conjunction with PRP for ultimate skin renewal and repair but to also create channels for the potent PRP to be absorbed and utilised.
